Sourcing from the Worlds Best Quarries
Our commitment to quality starts long before our stone reaches your home or project site. We travel to the top quarries around the globe to select the finest stone blocks, ensuring that we only work with sources known for their superior stone. Our team meticulously inspects the material directly from the quarry, looking for:
- Premium Quality Stone: We prioritize quarries that have a reputation for producing stone with exceptional color, clarity, and veining.
- Unique Natural Patterns: Natural Stone is known for its unique, natural beauty, and we select blocks that offer stunning and varied patterns while still providing a consistent overall look.
- Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing: We partner with quarries that follow sustainable practices, ensuring that we respect the environment, and the communities involved in marble production.
By working directly with these world-renowned quarries, we ensure that the material we bring back to our facility is of the highest quality, setting the stage for the next steps in our quality control process.
Uncrate & Layout
When new stone shipments arrive, our team carefully uncrates each delivery. We then lay out pieces from multiple boxes to get a comprehensive view of the shipment’s unique characteristics. This allows us to:
- Assess Natural Variations: Stone can vary in color, clarity and veining. By laying out multiple pieces, we can see these variations in detail.
- Ensure Quality: Our team inspects each piece under good lighting to identify any imperfections, such as chips or inconsistencies in pattern, size, thickness, color, etc.
Match with Existing Inventory
Once the initial inspection is complete, we compare the new stone with our existing inventory to see if it can be blended with an existing lot. This helps us maintain a similar look across all pieces. During this step, we:
- Check Color Consistency: We closely examine the hue, tone, and shade of the stone to see if it matches the existing stock.
- Evaluate Clarity & Veining: Our team checks the clarity of the stone and the presence of natural veining, making sure everything matches seamlessly.
- Verify Size & Thickness: Stone is measured for uniform sizing and thickness to ensure consistency during installation.
If the new shipment matches the characteristics of an existing lot, we integrate it for a more cohesive offering & re-photograph the material.
Creating a New Lot
If the new shipment does not blend seamlessly with our existing lots, we assign its own lot number. This process includes:
- Designating a Lot Number: Each new lot is given a unique number to distinguish it from others, ensuring that every piece in a lot matches in appearance.
Lot numbers do not distinguish stone quality, only “-90” to “-99” distinguishes undesirables.
- Detailed Record-Keeping: We document the unique characteristics of each new lot, including photos and descriptions, so you can see exactly what to expect.
This step ensures that every piece of stone within a lot can be installed with a consistent look, making it easier to achieve a stunning finish in your space.
Final Verification & Documentation
Before the new inventory is added to our catalog, we perform a final review to make sure all details are accurate.
This includes:
- Double-Checking Records: We verify that all information, including lot numbers, photos, and descriptions, is up to date.
- Quality Assurance Sign-Off: Our team signs off on each lot to confirm that it meets our high standards of quality.
- Ready for Sale: Once verified, the stone is made available for sale, with detailed information available to help you choose the perfect lot for your project.
